The Pirates Compost Community initiative is a circular economy project that regenerates the soil naturally and effectively by composting food waste, and then planting food gardens that will benefit people in communities that do not have access to healthy, vital vegetables – this closes the loop on food waste.
The beneficiary of this initiative is the NPO Women of Vision – WOV, based in Westbury, Johannesburg: https://womenofvision.co.za/
Food grown at the Pirates Compost Community will feed into the WOV food programme for the community, and 10% of commercial income will be ploughed back into WOV educational programmes like, the Enviro-Kids Club. A shared value initiative.
