VISIT BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE HYATT REGENCY JOHANNESBURG HOTEL – ROSEBANK, 19 JUNE 2013

On the 19th of June, the children from the Dorcas Creche had the privilege of receiving volunteers from the Hyatt Regency Johannesburg Hotel in Rosebank. The visit to the crèche coincided with a programme run by the Hyatt Group worldwide, where its employees are appreciated for the work they do within the organisation. As part of the Thrive Programme (Fostering vibrant, healthy communities around the world), Women of Vision were selected to receive these volunteers to spend a morning interacting with the young children from Dorcas Creche. With games to play, dancing and singing and a piñata or three for the children, who could blame them for thinking it was Christmas? The children had an amazing time dancing with the young volunteers, playing tennis and cricket and even showing off their hoola hooping skills. When it came to taking a swipe at the piñata, their excitement was hard to contain. However, the children were also taught that sharing with everyone is the right thing to do, so the sweets were all placed in a box and evenly distributed amongst all the kids. After lunch, the children sang a couple of songs and recited some memory bible verses to the volunteers, until it was time to go home. A huge thank you to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rosebank for providing such immense joy to these young children. Their excitement could hardly be contained! Visit our gallery for photos of the day.
