The first Women of Vision Golf Day was held on the 21st June at the Wanderers Golf Club in Johannesburg. The turnout was phenomenal, with 29 four-balls being sold for the first ever Golf Day organised by Women of Vision. The course was in impeccable condition and many favourable comments were received from the golfers. For some golfers, their own game wasn’t spectacularly great, but as long as fun was had, we achieved our goal. We had amazing support from many companies and individuals with the donation of prizes and auction prizes for the day and without these, we would not have been successful. A huge thank you to the following: Morningside City Lodge, Nestle, Urban Upgrades, Hollard Insurance, Heart Wood Tree Gifting, Advantage Tennis Academy (Gareth Gibson), Hyatt Regency Johannesburg, Treviso Italian Coffee Shop, Sun International, Charmain & Lance Brogden, Tanith Wantenaar, The Beauty Connection, Learning Strategies, Megan Elfick, Toast & Co, Werksmans, Rexel, Petite Jewellers, Video Spot, Noble Motors, Kentz, Davenports, Maria & Frisky Domingues, EbenHaeser Group, Citrum Khumalo and Des. Thank you also goes to all the companies that took four balls, donated money, that sponsored holes and that participated in the auction on the day. Without our golfers, there would not have been a golf day! But a golf day cannot happen without the assistance of all the volunteers on the day and behind the scenes. To Maria, Rika, Justine, Saurell and Claudia for helping on the day; to John Wolland for being our Master of Ceremonies, and Colleen for all the assistance in getting four balls, prizes donated and sponsorships for the holes. But a huge thank you must go to Ann Nott for the assistance she provided on a weekly basis in assisting with the organisation of the golf day. Her invaluable assistance is much appreciated by the charity. Following on the very successful event, and the many positive responses we have had from our 116 golfers, this will definitely become a yearly event. We look forward to the next one to being bigger and better than the 1st one.
